True Colours
If I could paint a picture
to make the pain go away,
Don’t you know that I would
if I could.
If I showed you some colours,
would the hurt disappear?
Don’t you know that I would
if I could.
But the clouds within your landscape
are full of summer rain,
And the tears that brush your pillow
can help to ease the pain,
for the splashes on the paper
are the colours from inside,
but the choice of how to use them
is what we must decide.
If you could paint a picture
to make the pain go away,
Don’t you know that it would
if you could.
If you found your true colours,
would the hurt disappear?
Don’t you know that it would
if you could.
Charles Antony
This was written by Charles Antony for me when I was feeling very low a fair few years ago now, I think the words are beautiful and many of his poems have helped people. He is an inspiration to many. Thank you Charles by Elaine Hurren to her Friend Charles
